The Wave

bigjawsA huge, perfect wave begins in the ocean as simply molecules of water. Wind, weather and current toss the water and send it traveling across the wide ocean until it hits a particular shore in a particular way. We are all like those water molecules – tossed, turned, empowered and driven by forces in our lives. We can hit the shore with majestic power like my favorite wave, Peahi (Jaws) on the north shore of Maui. We have potential, and we are the rocks, shore and “weather” that create our own life story – or, “wave.”

The Offer: As Kai organizes his Positively Kai clinics around the world, we will be offering organizations serving challenged, at-risk, inspiring and talented youth a way to raise awareness – and funds.  Leaders at Boys & Girls Clubs, Big Brother-Big Sister organizations and schools can CONTACT us to learn how to schedule THE WAVE.

THE WAVE includes a facilitated conversation with youth before they watch “The SUP Movie.” After the viewing there is a time for reflection that will guide youth to consider how they might focus on their own “wave” or talent/expertise and make a difference in the world right now.  In most cases, a few youth will be inspired to share their stories – noting how they personify, “It’s YOUR wave – Ride It.” Providing hope for youth facing challenges, providing a voice and platform for them to express their dreams and begin the journey toward making them happen is our vision.

Phase two of THE WAVE can include a showing of The SUP Movie for the community to benefit your youth organization. That can be a great time to showcase the character and “make-a-difference attitude among your youth.  As Kai hears stories that come from the experience, a select group will be invited to meet Kai at the closest Positively Kai event. In Summer 2015 we are focusing on Maui and Oregon. CONTACT us to participate or learn more.
